Northern Virginia Weather: Summer Checks in For a Visit

STERLING, VA — Whatever kind of weather conditions March and April present, they're going to be hard-pressed to beat what continues to happen during this month, which would be a mild February with staying power.

That's the word from the area arm of the National Weather Service.

Here's all you need to know: Thursday and Friday are expected to feature highs in the mid-to-upper 70s.

There's a slight chance of rain late Thursday afternoon.

Tonight: Patchy fog after 1am. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 51. South wind around 6 mph.

Thursday: A slight chance of showers after 4pm. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 74. South wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday Night: A slight chance of showers before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. South wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 76. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. South wind around 9 mph.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 49.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 34.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 55.
