Northern Virginia Weather: Temperature Roller Coaster Continues

The weekend is expected to bring much milder temperatures, according to the National Weather Service, but also clouds and rain Sunday.

STERLING, VA — Similar to last weekend, Saturday and Sunday will bring an end to a mini-cold snap with temperatures in the mid-60s under mostly cloudy skies, according to the area branch of the National Weather Service.

Any remaining chance of slight snow flurries should be gone Friday night.

The biggest threat of rain is Sunday afternoon, with a 60 percent chance.

Tonight: A chance of flurries before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. South wind 7 to 10 mph.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph.

Saturday Night: A slight chance of showers after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 46. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: Showers likely, mainly after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 65. Southeast wind 6 to 9 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Sunday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 46. Breezy.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 30.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 50.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 34.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 47.
