Northern Virginia Weather: Weekend Has Upside, Downside

STERLING, VA — Get ready for a sun-splashed weekend, according to the area arm of the National Weather Service, but also get ready for a dose of bone-chilling cold.

And afterward? Snow is expected to show up Monday night and stick around in varying degrees until Wednesday.

Meanwhile, lows Friday night, Saturday and Sunday will be south of 25.

Highs both days will be hard-pressed to reach 40.
