Saturday brings more wind gusts, according to the National Weather Service, but sun will buffer the chilly temperatures through the weekend.

STERLING, VA — Your first weekend of March brings loads of sunshine amid chilly temperatures, according to the area repository of the National Weather Service.

Compared to temperatures of late, Friday night will be relatively arctic, with lows in the 20s and winds up to 29 mph.

(Not 28 mph or 30 mph but "29 mph." Really?)

Saturday and Sunday are expected to be sunny with highs in the lower 40s.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 23. Blustery, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to 8 to 13 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 41. Northwest wind 8 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 20. North wind 5 to 9 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 41. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. South wind around 6 mph.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 60.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48.
