Northern Virginia Weather: Weekend Warmth With Caveat

STERLING, VA — It's going to be warm this weekend, boys and girls. So there you go. The downside, though, includes mostly cloudy skies and a chance of rain on Sunday.

Both days, according to the local branch of the National Weather Service, will offer highs near 70 and above.

The beginning of the work week will stay warm but rain is in the offing.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. South wind 5 to 7 mph.

Saturday Night: Cloudy, with a low around 51. South wind 3 to 5 mph.

Sunday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Southeast wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Sunday Night: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 55. Southeast wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Monday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55.

Tuesday: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
