Scott Surovell Kicks Off Campaign for State Senate Seat

Receives endorsement from Toddy Puller, who is retiring from seat.

Scott Surovell officially launched his campaign over the weekend to represent Virginia’s 36th District in the Virginia Senate.

The campaign event was held at the Landing at Occoquan Harbor Marina Restaurant and Waterfront Bar. It sits in the middle of the Senate district. The event was packed and included support from Del. Alfonso Lopez (D-49th) of Arlington and state Sen. Chap Petersen (D-34th).

Surovell also received the official endorsement last week of the woman who held the Senate seat he’s campaigning for, for many years, Toddy Puller.

Here’s part of the endorsement letter she sent out last week:

For 24 years I have served in the state legislature, and for the past 15 years serving the people of the 36th senatorial district. But now it is time for the next generation. I am pleased to endorse Delegate Scott Surovell for Senate, because I know he is not only a capable leader and passionate advocate, but he is always upbeat and looking to the future.
