Teen Girl Assaulted While Walking to School in Lorton Area

The girl said someone grabbed her from behind while walking to school.

Fairfax County police are investigating a report of a 16-year-old girl being assaulted while walking to school in the Lorton area early Tuesday morning.

According to police, the victim was walking along the sidewalk on Silverbrook Road near Monacan Road when a man grabbed her from behind, around the waist.

The girl said she screamed, causing the man to run off toward the south.

The victim immediately reported the incident to her school's resource officer, who searched the area along with patrol officers. The suspect was not located.

The girl described her attacker as Hispanic, with a mustache, wearing dark clothing. Police are still investigating.
