Owner of Local Barbecue Joint Will Hit the Road

Bacon's BBQ restaurant is closing its doors in Manassas Park, but its food truck will roll in the Prince William area.

A dearth of customers is forcing Bacon’s BBQ to close its doors in Manassas Park, so the owner plans to hit the road in a food truck.

The barbecue joint at 7422 Old Centreville Road wins praise in the latest edition of Northern Virginia magazine - a food critic touts Bacon’s pulled pork bowl. But owner Ray Bacon is moving on at the end of this month.

You can look for Bacon’s food truck on local roads; check Facebook for truck stops.

Bacon told the magazine that he’s looking at sites for a new restaurant in Chantilly and in South Riding in Loudoun County. If you want to check out the current location before it closes, look for the “Absolute BBQ” sign out front; it’s the name of the previous tenant, says the magazine.
