Patriot High School Cheerleaders March In Disney Christmas Parade

Students from Prince William County's newest high school will appear in the annual parade that airs Christmas morning on ABC.

When Mickey Mouse marches past Cinderella's castle on television screens Christmas morning, five Patriot High School cheerleaders will be marching along the parade route, too.

The five girls — seniors Lauren Meador, Brittany Tran and Crystal Vandemark, junior Sarah Eyler and sophomore Loren Yoakum  — will be participating in the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade. It will air on ABC at 10 a.m. Christmas morning.

They will be among about 600 cheerleaders from 38 states selected by the National Cheerleading Association to participate. The Patriot cheerleaders will be in rows 11-13 of about 120 total rows.

The girls, accompanied by cheerleading coach and English teacher Katie Wanson, traveled to Orlando earlier this month to practice their routine with the other participants and tape segments for the 30th annual holiday television special.
