Police Investigate Body Found Near VRE Line

Fairfax County police were investigating a body found near the VRE line in Fairfax County that stopped afternoon train service in Burke.

The Washington Post reports that officers responded at 11 a.m. to the woods at Hemlock Overlook Regional Park regarding the body of a female. There is no sign of foul play, according to the report.

As crews continued to investigate at the scene, train service was stopped in Burke on Monday afternoon, with commuters bussed to other stations. Metro was also accepting VRE passes.

Train service was restored at 5:50 p.m., according to VRE.
