Violent Burglary Attempt Thwarted in Manassas

MANASSAS, VA — So you're presumably asleep in the wee hours of Monday night/Tuesday morning when you hear a loud noise coming from the front door. You check it out and then an unknown man kicks open the front door. That's what happened in the 7700 block of Gateshead Lane, according to Prince William County Police.

Shortly before 3:30 a.m., police responded to the scene for a report of a burglary in progress. The victim said after the man kicked open the front door, he saw the resident and immediately fled. The suspect is described as being of an unknown race and wearing all dark clothing.
