$19.9M Sale On McLean's Gold Coast Sets Record

Six acres of land on McLean's coveted Gold Coast near the Potomac River sold for $19.9 million.

MCLEAN, VA—The $19.9 million sale of six acres on McLean's Gold Coast has set a new record in DC area real estate.

Long & Foster /Christie’s International Real Estate sold the two adjoining parcels of residential land on Chain Bridge Road with views of the Potomac River. The combined sale is the largest residential land sale of its kind in the metro area, according to DC area multiple listing service (MLS) records. It's also the second most expensive DC area property sold in 2018.

"As one of the area’s most premier and coveted areas, McLean’s Gold Coast attracts both local and international dignitaries, who appreciate the neighborhood’s convenience to our nation’s capital as well as its privacy," said Fouad Talout, one of the agents who sold the land.

Two other three-quarter acre lots on Chain Bridge Road are expected to sell for a combined $3.5 million.

The team, comprised of Talout, Jack Spahr and Pascale Karam, sold a 6.5-acre riverfront property previously owned by the late Sen. Ted Kennedy for $9.5 million, along with other multi-million dollar properties on McLean’s Gold Coast.
