3 Most Popular Halloween Costumes In Virginia, D.C.

VIRGINIA — Fortnite Halloween costumes are on the top of almost everyone's mind this year. The breakout video game is the most popular choice amongst trick-or-treaters this season, according to Google Frightgeist, a list of the 500 most-searched Halloween costumes across the U.S. In the District of Columbia and South Dakota, though, Spider-Man tops the list.

The Frightgeist tool tracks all of the top trending costumes in every state and highlights towns with peak search interest.

These are the three most-Googled costumes in Virginia, according to Frightgeist:

1. Fortnite (peak searches in Roanoke, Richmond and Norfolk)
2. Spider-Man
3. Unicorn

Nearby in the District of Columbia, the top costume choices are slightly different, with Fornite not even on the list:

1. Spider-Man
2. Ninja
3. The Incredibles
