The Boro Hosting Blood Drive, Antibody Testing Provided
The American Red Cross tests blood donations for COVID-19 antibodies.
TYSONS, VA — The Boro, a mixed-use development in Tysons, will continue its partnership with the American Red Cross with the next blood drive on March 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The location of the blood drive is Conference Room E/F at the Boro Station Conference Center, 1775 Greensboro Station Place, McLean, VA. Individuals can make an appointment online for a blood donation. The location and appointments will allow for social distancing and hygienic practices.
This is the third American Red Cross blood drive held at The Boro. In July 2020, blood donations through The Boro and American Red Cross partnership provided enough to save 67 lives. Blood donations are needed on an ongoing basis to help patients with blood, platelets and plasma needs.

The American Red Cross tests all blood, platelet, and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies. Donations with positive antibody tests can provide convalescent plasma transfusions to help current COVID-19 patients with serious or life-threatening conditions. Antibody test results will be available within seven to 10 days through the Red Cross Blood Donor App or the online donor portal at RedCrossBlood.org.
If a donor has received the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines, there is no deferral time for donating blood, provided that they have no symptoms and are feeling well on the blood donation day. Individuals who have received the COVID-19 vaccine cannot donate convalescent plasma through Red Cross.
