Capitals' T. J. Oshie Buys $5.2M McLean Home
Thanks to a pricey new contract, Capitals forward T.J. Oshie cashed in on a dazzling McLean home.

MCLEAN, VA—Capitals forward T.J. Oshie sealed the deal to stay in Washington with a new contract earlier this year. Now he's scoring big time—but not just on the ice.
Washington Business Journal reports that Oshie bought a $5.2 million McLean home from Boston Properties executive Ray Ritchey. Ritchey and his wife Anne closed the deal Nov. 1 through TTR Sotheby's International Realty.
The Ritcheys built the house in 1996 and put it on the market in October. The European-style five-bedroom home in Langley boasts dazzling amenities like an outdoor pool, media room, library, and six fireplaces.

The purchase comes months after Oshie earned a contract that left fans wondering if the money was worth his production. In June, the Capitals signed Oshie to an eight-year, $46 million contract giving him an average $5.75 million per year. The deal keeps the star forward in Washington until he's 38.
The Capitals acquired Oshie in 2015, and he tied for the team lead in goals (33) last season. He entered the National Hockey League in 2008 and has recorded 175 goals and 253 assists in his career.

One thing's for certain: the home is a great choice for Oshie, his wife Lauren and their two daughters to settle into.
