Chicken Out Moving to New Downtown Address

No seating at new location

Chicken Out in downtown McLean is moving down the street to the Langley shopping center.

It will lease the space previously occupied by the popular Marvelous Market which closed in March.

"We are so excited because we go to Chicken Out for lunch," said Sonia Frederick of Flowers and Plants, which is located in the Langley Shopping Center. "Now we have to get in the car and drive. Now we just go out the door."

Chicken Out is now located in a large space at the southwest corner of Chain Bridge Road and Laughlin Avenue. It has a large seating area.

The new space appears to be maybe half the size. Renie Freedman, spokesperson for Chicken Out said the new space will include a small seating area.

She also said the move is part of the new direction of the company since it emerged from bankruptcy under new ownership.

She said Richard Hindin, a McLean resident, no longer runs the company. Chicken Out Rotisserie filed for bankruptcy in July 2011, according to news reports.

She said Chicken Out had been located in McLean since 1995.

Sonia Frederick said the Langley shopping center lacked a convenient place for food and such stores bring in traffic.

"We are thrilled" Chicken Out is coming, she said.
