County To Propose Options For Relieving McLean Traffic Congestion

A traffic study looked at a number of intersections between downtown McLean and Tysons.

MCLEAN, VA—Recommendations to relieve traffic congestion at McLean intersections will be presented at a community meeting Thursday, June 13 at 7 p.m. Dranesville Supervisor John Foust and the Fairfax County Department of Transportation will host the meeting at the McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

The county's transportation department is studying traffic between Tysons and downtown McLean. In particular, the study focuses on the Dolley Madison Boulevard corridor between the Dulles Toll Road and Old Dominion Drive. The county will recommend a number of options to improve traffic and will seek feedback from the public.

  • Dolley Madison Boulevard and Great Falls Street/Lewinsville Road
  • Dolley Madison Boulevard and Old Dominion Drive
  • Dolley Madison Boulevard and Ingleside Avenue
  • Balls Hill Road and Lewinsville Road
  • Chain Bridge Road and Great Falls Street
  • Old Dominion Drive and Ingleside Avenue

Both short and long-term solutions will be presented. Comments will be accepted through July 15.
