COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Site To Open At Tysons Corner Center
The state-organized vaccination site will be in a vacant store at the mall.

TYSONS, VA — A COVID-19 mass vaccination site is scheduled to open April 20 at a vacant store at Tysons Corner Center, according to the Fairfax County Health Department.
The Community Vaccination Center will be located at the former Lord & Taylor store at Tysons Corner Center, 1961 Chain Bridge Road. The site is organized by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and the Virginia Department of Health in cooperation with the Fairfax County Health Department and the Fairfax County Office of Emergency Management. It will be run by Ashbritt/IEM as part of a contract with VDEM.
"We are excited that we can offer our residents another large-scale COVID-19 vaccination site, this time in the Tysons area, which is easily accessed by several bus routes and located within walking distance of the Tysons Corner Metro station along the Silver Line," said Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeffrey McKay in a statement. "As vaccine supplies allow, this site will vaccinate some 3,000 people per day, which paired with the other sites we have throughout the county, will greatly impact Fairfax’s vaccination rates and move us closer to herd immunity."

The new Tysons Corner Center site will be one of eight Community Vaccination Center sites in Virginia. Locations are chosen to boost large-scale vaccination sites and are chosen based on population reach, COVID-19 impact and accessibility.
The new site will open after Fairfax County begins phase 2, when everyone 16 and older will be eligible for the vaccine. Once it begins phase 2 on April 18, the Fairfax County Health Department will stop taking vaccine registrations and will direct residents to schedule an appointment directly at VaccineFinder.org.
