COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics Set For Fairfax Schools Students
Students will receive vaccinations during the school day if their parent or guardian registers them in advance.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — COVID-19 vaccination events will happen at several Fairfax County high schools in the coming days.
Fairfax County Public Schools announced four initial vaccination events in coordination with the Fairfax County Health Department. The events will be open to students ages 12 to 18 by registration, with appointment times between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

- Tuesday, May 25, Bryant High School, 2709 Popkins Lane, Alexandria
- Wednesday, May 26, Langley High School, 6520 Georgetown Pike, McLean
- Thursday, May 27, Annandale High School, 4700 Medford Drive, Annandale
- Friday, May 28, Mount Vernon High School, 8515 Old Mt. Vernon Road, Alexandria
A parent or guardian must register their student in advance through the Fairfax County Health Department. Consent must be provided by 8 p.m. May 20 for students to get appointments for the upcoming vaccination events. If vaccination events are full, families will be referred to another health department vaccination clinic.
The vaccinations will take place during the school day. Transportation will be provided to students from their base school, and virtual students will need to be transported to and from their base school. In-person students will go through the regular school day schedule in between the vaccination appointment.

Additional school vaccination sites beginning on June 1 will be announced later. Families with students in grades seven to 12 should monitor their email for future information in school newsletters.
The events come after federal authorization was granted for Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine for ages 12 to 15. The vaccine was previously authorized for ages 16 and older. Consent from a parent or guardian is required for a minor to receive a vaccine.
