Downed Trees, Outages Hit McLean Monday
Fairfax County Police reported three road closures due to fallen trees.

MCLEAN, VA—Fallen caused road closures for a significant part of Monday in McLean, according to Fairfax County Police. The area also had some outages as strong winds impacted the area.
Both directions of Old Dominion Drive were closed at Franklin Park Road as crews cleared a downed tree, police reported at 6:19 a.m. Police also reported a downed tree on a power line in the 7800 block of Georgetown Pike.
The third road closure happened Old Chesterbrook Road between Wrightson Drive and Longfellow Street. The closure was active as of 9:32 a.m. Police ask drivers to use alternate routes.

According to Dominion Energy's outage map, customers lost power in scattered areas Monday morning. The most significant outage affected thousands in the Great Falls area. In McLean, over 400 lost power in the west Langley area.

Fairfax County was under a high wind warning through part of Monday. The National Weather Service says strong winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph were likely. The strongest winds were expected Monday morning. Impacts could include downed power lines and trees and power outages.
