Fairfax County Farmers Markets To Reopen With Restrictions

The Fairfax County Port Authority will reopen some farmers markets in May, but will require shoppers to comply with safety guidelines.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA – The Fairfax County Park Authority will reopen some farmers markets in May, but will require shoppers to comply with social distancing and safety guidelines to protect vendors and shoppers from spreading the new coronavirus.

The safety guidelines will strongly recommend shoppers cover their faces, maintain 6 feet of difference between themselves and others, and will require no more than two family members in the market.

  • One customer per stall
  • Let vendors bag purchases
  • Do not touch surfaces
  • Credit or debt card payments preferred
  • No on-site eating or purchases, or sampling
  • No lingering

Shoppers are also strongly encouraged to pre-order products directly from vendors who accept pre-orders.

The following markets will be reopening:

  • Reston Farmers Market: Saturdays beginning May 9 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Mount Vernon/McCutcheon Farmers Market: Wednesdays beginning May 13 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Burke Farmers Market: Saturdays beginning 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
