FAIRFAX, VA — Are you looking for a furry companion to make you smile after a stressful day of work? Consider starting your search for a new pet at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, which shelters animals in need and takes in surrendered pets.

Among the available pets are Maya and Mimi, two retriever/Labrador mix sisters who are inseparable. These 5-year-old girls are well trained and playful. They were surrender by a family that could no longer care for them, but they were known to get along with the child in the home. Maya and Mimi get along well with other dogs but haven't been around cats.

The one catch is that they need to be adopted together, because they can't stand being apart from each other.
