Firefighter Reads Bedtime Story To Benefit Nonprofit Preschool
The "Read Me A Story" virtual event will feature Kevin Long of the McLean Volunteer Fire Department.

MCLEAN, VA — For some kids, bedtime stories are some of the most memorable moments of the day. It's often family reading them to sleep, but what if you could change the routine up a bit.
On Wednesday, May 19 at 7 p.m. families can tune into "Read Me A Story," a virtual event featuring a firefighter reading a story. The virtual literacy event is free, but donations will be accepted to benefit Falls Church-McLean Children’s Center, a nonprofit preschool.
Kevin Long, a McLean Volunteer Fire Department firefighter and assistant chief, will read the dual language English and Spanish book "Fire! Fuego! Brave Bomberos" during the program.

Early registrants will be entered into a drawing for various hardcover children’s books, including the book Long will read during the program.
The event will also feature tips from a preschool teacher on making reading fun, guest appearances from local supporters, and preschoolers sharing their favorite books. One More Page Books, a bookstore in the Arlington and Falls Church area, will donate a portion of sales of those recommended books to the preschool.
