How NiHao Learning Center Is Changing Chinese Learning In America
NiHao Learning Center tells Patch about the grand opening of the Chinese language school's first location in McLean.

NiHao Learning Center, a full immersion Chinese language school, is opening its first location in McLean. The school primarily focuses on teaching Mandarin Chinese to children in grades K-6, but they also offer after school, evening and weekend Mandarin Chinese and math classes.
So why should your child learn Mandarin Chinese? NiHao Learning Center firmly believes that having knowledge of the language will give them a competitive edge to work and thrive in the globalized world. Patch caught up with the teachers at NiHao Learning Center, to learn about their grand opening on March 16, as well as how the center is committed to providing quality Chinese colloquial education to children:
Patch: How long have you been doing business in town or how long has the organization you represent been around in the community?

NiHao Learning Center: We are a new business in McLean, and we are planning to open on March 16. We are located in 1340 Old Chain Bridge Rd Suite 203, McLean, VA 22101.
Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?

NiHao Learning Center: With today's fierce battle of market challenges, we founded NiHao Learning Center to allow children to get better job opportunities in the future, and we aim to provide a professional Chinese language education environment in America. We hope to open our center in other cities and states, as well.
Patch: If you had to sum up your business mission to stronger in five words, what would those words be?
NiHao Learning Center: Revolutionizing Chinese Learning in America.
Patch: What’s the biggest challenge or most difficult moment you’ve faced in your job?
NiHao Learning Center: The biggest challenge in my job is creating a unique language learning center.
Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
NiHao Learning Center: The most satisfying part of my job is knowing that we can make a difference in a child’s life, and help to change the child’s world view.
Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?
NiHao Learning Center: All the teachers who work for us are required to be professionals with a bachelor’s degree or higher in either teaching Chinese as a foreign language or in a field related to language studies. Our teachers all have one or more years of experience in teaching Chinese language education and have passed NiHao Learning Center's teacher qualification exam.
Our teachers are screened at the time of a teacher’s application, and we conduct a background check on all our teachers. In addition, we require mandatory training for all teachers twice a year to ensure that our teachers are getting the continuing education necessary to remain relevant in their daily teachings. Moreover, our teachers' performance is measured by students' periodic standardized assessments, peer reviews and parent feedback.
And, we will show and teach the culture while we are teaching and playing happy educational games.
Patch: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given when it comes to success?
NiHao Learning Center: Be consistent and never giving up.
Patch: Are there any new projects or endeavors you’re working on that you're extra excited about?
NiHao Learning Center: We are hoping to open NiHao Learning Center and replicate the success around the country.
Patch: Do you have any events coming up in your community?
NiHao Learning Center: We have our center’s grand opening meet and greet event coming up on March 16, 17,18, from 9 a.m. -2 p.m.
