McLean-Based Tutoring Club Named Top In Franchise
The Tutoring Club of McLean, North Arlington, and Falls Church was the top revenue producing location in the U.S. and two other nations.

MCLEAN, VA — Education is a top priority for parents in the McLean, Falls Church and Arlington area, and one way that's evident is use of services like tutoring center. In fact, one local tutoring center was the top revenue-producing location of the franchise worldwide.
The Tutoring Club of McLean, North Arlington, and Falls Church was recently honored for being the 2020 top center in the Tutoring Club’s network, which includes the U.S., Philippines, and United Arab Emirates. The center is based in McLean at the Chesterbrook Shopping Center, 6228 Old Dominion Drive.

Services cover math, sciences, reading, writing, history, languages, study and executive functioning skills, and more. In the summer, course reviews and previews of the next school year are offered. Test preparation services are available for the SAT, ACT, Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE), Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT), and High School Placement Test (HSPT). The tutoring center can also guide students through the college application process.
"The company’s trained tutors help students by identifying skill strengths and discrepancies while utilizing a variety of methodologies and strategies," said Michelle Scott, owner of the Tutoring Club of McLean, North Arlington, and Falls Church. "Providing curriculum to fill specific gaps or to get ahead bundled with asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking can help students reason logically to find the answer. This method of teaching can have positive and future implications to promote better learning practices."

The Tutoring Club of McLean, North Arlington, and Falls Church was also named the company's Rookie of the Year in its first year in business in 2010. It has continued to earn top production awards since then.
Scott attributed the success to the staff, who provide individualized support and custom plans for students to create self-sufficient study skills.
"We attribute the top honors to our passionate and dedicated team," said Scott. "They work closely with students and families to get to know them on a personal level. We understand there is much more to academic performance than what happens in the classroom and like to take a holistic approach."
The tutoring center has also helped students who relocated to Fairfax County, Arlington County and Falls Church schools to address gaps from previous schools, help them earn top grades and build their confidence. During the pandemic, Scott introduced guided distance learning offerings.
One thing Scott urges families to do is not wait to seek specialized help if their student may need help in school.
"We find the biggest mistake that parents make for students is waiting too long to get proper tutoring expertise after the child has fallen farther behind," said Scott. "It’s better to fix learning issues and skill gaps earlier than later."
