McLean Forecast: A Short Break, Then More Rain
Heavy rain is possible at times overnight, forecasters say. A flood watch has been issued.
MCLEAN, VA—As we look ahead to the weekend, most of us are probably wondering if we'll get relief from the rain that's lingered for a good portion of September. The good news is, the weekend looks better. The bad news is, the rain isn't quite done yet.
The National Weather Service's forecast for McLean calls for rain starting up again—likely into Thursday afternoon and night. Forecasters say rain may be heavy at times overnight with new rainfall up to half or three quarters of an inch. A flood watch is in effect from Thursday evening through the late night.
The rain should halt and give way to clouds Friday morning. The weather should become sunny with highs in the comfortable 70s throughout the weekend.

Thursday: Showers likely, mainly after 2 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 66. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Thursday Night: Showers. The rain could be heavy at times. Patchy fog after 11 p.m. Low around 57. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Friday: Showers likely, mainly before 8 a.m. The rain could be heavy at times. Patchy fog before 11 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 58.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 56.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 73.
Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60.
