McLean Thanksgiving 2020 Grocery Store Hours: Safeway, Giant

MCLEAN, VA — While Thanksgiving Day feasts are likely to be a little smaller this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, that doesn't mean we're less likely to forget the cranberry sauce, the gravy or the whipped topping for the pumpkin pie.

It's a terrible feeling — but, luckily, there's a list of grocery stores that will be open in McLean for those emergency and last-minute shopping trips.

Retail giants Target and Walmart will not be open on Thanksgiving. Both chains made the decision in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement released on its website, Target said the company's goal is to "make the holiday shopping experience simple, safe, and stress-free."

Here are the hours for McLean area grocery stores that will be open on Thanksgiving Day, along with a list of those that won't:

• Safeway: 1688 Anderson Rd, McLean, VA 22102. Hours: 6 a.m.-7 p.m. Chesterbrook, 6244 Old Dominion Dr, McLean, VA 22101. Hours: 5 a.m.-7 p.m. 1330 Chain Bridge Rd, McLean, VA 22101. Hours: 5 a.m.-7 p.m.
• Giant Food: McLean Shopping Center, 1454 Chain Bridge Rd, McLean, VA 22101. Hours: 6 a.m.-3 p.m.
• Walmart: 1500 B Cornerside Blvd, Vienna, VA 22182. Hours: closed.
• Wegmans: 1835 Capital One Dr South, Tysons, VA 22102. Hours: 6 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Trader Joe's: Tysons Station, 7514 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA 22043. Hours: closed.
• Whole Foods: 1635 Boro Pl, McLean, VA 22102. Hours: 7 a.m.-5 p.m. 7511 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA 22043. Hours: 6 a.m.-5 p.m.
