McLean WinterFest Parade 2019 Cancelled
The Thanksgiving holiday weekend will wrap up with a parade, an annual tradition for over a decade.

UPDATE: The WinterFest parade has been cancelled due to rain in the forecast.
MCLEAN, VA — McLean's holiday season will kick off following Thanksgiving with the 11th annual WinterFest parade on at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1.
McLean's only community parade features cars, floats, troops, performers and Santa to get you in the holiday spirit. Spectators can watch the parade on Old Chain Bridge Road near the Langley Shopping Center.

The parade runs on Old Chain Bridge Road/Chain Bridge Road from Fleetwood Street to Elm Street. The parade lineup will happen on Beverly Road. Marchers will turn up Curran Street to finish, while vehicles will finish on Elm Street.
When and where will roads be closed?
Old Chain Bridge Road/Chain Bridge Road from Fleetwood Street to Elm Street will be closed from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Beverly Road from Dolley Madison Avenue to Elm Street and Fleetwood Road to Old Chain Bridge Road will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 2 p.m. The Langley Shopping Center will be closed to vehicular traffic during the parade.
Will there be food?
Food trucks (Mama’s Donut Bites, Coyote Grille and Rocklands BBQ) will be at the Langley Shopping Center.
Where is parking available?
Spectators can park at Franklin Sherman Elementary School (6633 Brawner Street via Chain Bridge Road to Kurtz Road to Calder Road). Safeway parking will be accessible only from Chain Bridge Road, not Old Chain Bridge Road. Parking will be open at Old McLean Village and Curran Street before the road closures begin. Parking at Salona Shopping Center will be limited to Dolley
Madison Boulevard or Kurtz Road. Accessible parking is at McLean Baptist Church (1367 Chain Bridge Road via Kurtz Road).
Parade participants can park along Elm Street, the first block from Old Dominion Drive on Beverly Road, and in business lots not open for business on Sundays.
What is the inclement weather policy?
The parade will be cancelled and not rescheduled in the case of inclement weather. If needed, an update would be posted by noon on parade day at www.mcleanwinterfest.org.
