McLean's Kevin Hogan Wins Football Accolades at Stanford University

Kevin Hogan, of McLean, the starting football quarterback for the Stanford University’s Cardinals, was among the 15 students to receive All-Pac-12 Conference football accolades on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, according to a Stanford University announcement.

Born and raised in McLean, Hogan attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. At Gonzaga, Hogan earned three varsity football letters and lettered in basketball.

According to Stamford University, Hogan won awards and accolades for football during high school, including:

• SuperPrep All-America and top high school player in Washington, D.C.
• Nation’s 13th-best overall quarterback prospect by Scout, 15th best pro-style QB by Rivals
• 1,820 passing yards for 14 touchdowns, 366 rushing yards and six touchdowns as a senior
• 4,762 passing yards and 37 touchdowns during prep career
• Two-time first team all-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference
• 2010 D.C. Player of the Year
• First team all-Met
• DCsportsFan.com Offensive Player of the Year
• Fairfax County Football Hall of Fame Outstanding Private School High School Player of the Year
• Selected to play in Chesapeake Bowl and USA Bowl
• Named to USA U-19 National Team

Son of Donna and the late Jerry Hogan of McLean, he hails from a family of football players. Hogan’s grandfather, James M. O’Brien, played football at Navy; two uncles: Coley O’Brien and Ivan Brown, played football at Notre Dame; and cousin Sean O’Brien, played football at Arizona.

At Stanford, Hogan ranks second in the Pac-12 and fifth nationally in passing efficiency, completing 185 of 177 attempts (68.3) for 2,500 yards and 23 touchdowns while throwing only seven interceptions.

Hogan is 34-10 as a starter, the most wins of any Stanford quarterback, and has the most victories of any active quarterback in the country. Hogan is 14-6 against AP top 25 opponents and is the only quarterback in school history to rush for more than 1,000 yards, according to Stanford University.
