Former Republican 2012 presidential nominee and Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will head to Northern Virginia tonight (Tuesday) to headline a fundraiser for Barbara Comstock, according to a recent report in The Washington Post.

Comstock co-chaired the Virginia campaign for Romney’s presidential run.

Romney will be present at the fundraiser at the home of Bobbie Kilberg, president and CEO of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, for Comstock, the Republican nominee in the race for Virginia’s 10th congressional District. Kilberg and her husband Bill Kilberg are residents of McLean.

Comstock is up against Democrat John Foust, a Fairfax County supervisor who represents the county’s Dranesville District, which includes McLean and Great Falls. Longtime Republican Congressman Frank Wolf announced his retirement from the seat.

Romney’s running mate in the 2012 presidential race, Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, also recently was scheduled to headline a fundraiser for Comstock, earlier this month, the Post reported.
