National Park Service Seeks Public Input for Jones Point Park

The public is invited to comment and review the Jones Point Recreation and Visitor Services Plan.

The National Park Service (NPS) invites you to review and comment on the Jones Point Recreation and Visitor Services Plan. The plan, developed with input from the public, will guide the development of recreational activities at Jones Point Park. The plan evaluates the existing conditions of the park and develops a set of recommendations for desired experiences.

“As we implement the Urban Agenda during the celebration of the National Park Service centennial and looking towards our next century of service, I am excited to release this draft Recreation and Visitor Services Plan for Jones Point Park. It is the goal of the National Park Service to provide premier recreational opportunities in an urban areas,” Superintendent Alexcy Romero said.

The NPS will be collecting comments on the draft plan via the Planning, Environment, and Public Comment (PEPC) website.

Additionally, the NPS will host an open house for the public to discuss the plan with park employees, and submit comments via written forms. The open house will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Jones Point Park from 10 a.m. to noon. Please note that this event is planned to take place outside under the Wilson Bridge. In case of inclement weather, portions of the meeting will take place in the visitor comfort station under the Wilson Bridge.
