Nats' Ace Scherzer Buys $5.2 Million Home in McLean

The home is located on Crest Lane and overlooks the Potomac River. Scherzer is in the first year of a seven-year deal worth $210 million.

Mere weeks after former Washington Capitals star Mike Green sold his $2.8 million McLean home upon his move to Detroit, the town is taking in a new professional athlete.

The Washingtonian was first to report that Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer — currently in the first year of a seven-year contract that will pay him $210 million — has purchased a $5.2 million home in McLean overlooking the Potomac River.

According to the home’s listing on Redfin, the deal was finalized by Sotheby’s listing agent Mike Anastasia. The Washingtonian reported the home was sold by Chain Bridge Bank Director and McLean Little League volunteer Paul Shiffman.
