Pi Day 2019 Deals And Freebies At NoVA, DC Restaurants
March 14 is Pi Day. You can mark it by doing math problems, or with pie and pizza deals across northern Virginia and DC.
VIRGINIA — Thursday, March 14, is National Pi Day, a day to observe the Greek symbol for a constant, the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. While it's a day to reflect on mathematics, it's also a great excuse to find deals on the edible types of pi(e) — both the dessert and pizza.
Pi is roughly 3.141592653589793238462; it's commonly shortened to 3.14, hence the play on today's date. Washington, D.C., and northern Virginia restaurants and retailers are offering freebies and deals on pies, pizza, T-shirts, tech and more to mark the day, says Offers.com.
Deals may vary by franchise and location. Call ahead to make sure your location is participating.
