UPDATE: Police Identify 3 Dead at McLean Home

Three dead bodies were found inside home Friday by Fairfax County Police.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- (UPDATE Saturday 6:45 p.m.) Fairfax County Police homicide detectives have preliminary determined that Friday night’s death investigation in the McLean area to be a domestic-related double murder-suicide, police announced Saturday night.

Police have identified the decedents as Shirley Zhou, 48, James Wenjie Chen, 16 and Hong Chen, 52, of McLean. It is believed that Hong Chen fatally shot his wife, Shirley Zhou, and son, James Chen, police said.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident and urge anyone with information to contact them.

An autopsy will determine the exact cause and manner of death, according to police. Updates will be released as they become available, police said.

Police were called to the home Friday afternoon at 12:34 p.m., after someone saw a body while looking into a window of the home, located at 1339 Windy Hill Road in McLean.

When officers arrived, they found three individuals with trauma to their bodies. All were pronounced dead at the scene.

Peggy Fox of WUSA-9 reported that one of the people found dead at the home is a student at Langley High School. Fox also reported that a daughter is at the University of Virginia. WUSA later reported that one of the three dead, the student, is a boy who was not at school Friday and did not get on his bus this morning.
