Police Warn of Suspicious Man Who Allegedly Approached Teen Girl in McLean Several Times
The teen reported the man has approached her in McLean three times in seven months.

Officers issued a statement this week wishing to make the public aware of a string of suspicious incidents involving a man and a teenaged girl in the McLean area.
Fairfax County police say that they took a report from a young girl who said a man in a vehicle has approached her three times over the past seven months, the most recent time being this week on Wednesday, March 9.
The first incident reportedly occurred in late August or early September of 2015. The girl told police she was walking along Great Falls Street near Tyndale Street around 4 p.m. when a small, light blue sedan pulled up next to her and the man driving asked for directions to Safeway.

The girl said the man had a dark skin tone, looked to be around 30 to 40 years old, and did not have much hair. She also said he was wearing glasses.
The second event occurred sometime in October. Again, the girl said a similar man and vehicle approached and asked for directions; this time, to the West Falls Church Metro station.

The third event occurred earlier this week on Wednesday, March 9 around 4:15 p.m. in the 1800 block of Susquehannock Drive. The teen said she was approached by a blue minivan, driven by a man who looked similar to the man in the first two incidents. The driver again asked for directions to the West Falls Church Metro station.
Police say though the situation is suspicious, there is no need for concern at this point in time.
"At no time did the driver ask the teen to get into the vehicle, or attempt to entice her to do so," the police department's bulletin said. "Based on the information provided to the police department, no known crime has been committed at this time. This information is being released for awareness purposes only."
