Residents Plead to Repave Kirby Road
A community member has placed a sign begging for repaving on the McLean road, which is in disrepair.

McLean resident Jimmy Johnson saw a sign this week that made him ecstatic.
The sign is on Kirby Road. It states, “Please Fix Me! -Road” and points to the roadway.

“Between Powhatan Street and Noble Drive lies a horrendous patch job on the street,” Johnson said in an email to Patch. “Every time I drive over it I feel as though my car is going to shake to pieces. Could not describe how happy I was to see local McLean residents raising their voices.”
Dranesville District Supervisor John Foust said Washington Gas, which has lines underneath the roadway, will repair the road starting April 1. Crews were unable to work in the winter months, he said.

The work is expected to take four to five weeks, Foust said.
