Rita Olson, Beloved Teacher At Country Day School In McLean
A teacher at the school for nearly 45 years, Olson died after a battle with cancer.
MCLEAN, VA — Rita Olson, beloved music and science teacher at The Country Day School, has passed away. After a courageous battle with cancer for the past six months, Rita passed away peacefully early Saturday morning.
Known as Mrs. Olson to the children at Country Day, Rita was a member of the faculty for almost 45 years. She began her career at Country Day as a classroom teacher, later taking over the music and science enrichments. Rita was a member of the Washington Revels and a Mount Vernon docent. She will be sorely missed as an integral part of the Country Day School community.
A private memorial service will be held.
