Sale Of McLean Home Becomes Most Expensive In DC Region
The Falls, an elaborate mansion overlooking the Potomac River, surpassed Jackie O's childhood home as the priciest home sale.
MCLEAN, VA — The $45 million sale of The Falls property in McLean has set a new record for the DC region.
Washington Business Journal first reported the sale, completed by TTR Sotheby’s International Realty's Mark Lowham and Russell Firestone. The home was originally listed for over $62 million. Nevertheless, it beat the sale of Merrywood, where Jackie Kennedy Onassis lived as a child, for $43 million.
The Falls went on sale in early 2018, according to The Washington Post. The last owner was the late James Kimsey, co-founder of AOL.

Located above the Potomac River the home has plenty of amenities: an infinity pool with sweeping views of the Potomac, mahogany library with a wet bar, 3-D media room, master suite with a massage room and private kitchen, and much more. The guest house, known as The Marden House, is a Frank Lloyd Wright creation in the shape of a fish.
Before it became a mansion, the original property was built by Scott Stupay. Check out photos of the old home here and take a photo tour of the new mansion on the TTR Sotheby’s International Realty listing page.
