See Which NoVA, DC Restaurants Make Most Romantic List: OpenTable

Chocolate, flowers and movies are all classics of the Valentine’s Day experience, but there may be no more important decision on the romantic holiday than picking the right restaurant for the dinner date.

If you’re looking for some help in choosing that perfect date night spot on Feb. 14, we’ve got some good news for you. A handful of Northern Virginia and DC restaurants are on the OpenTable "100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America for 2020" list.

The renowned Great Falls restaurant L'Auberge Chez Francois has once again made OpenTable's Valentine's Day list in addition to its adjoining eatery Jacques' Brasserie. In DC, Chez Billy Sud, Fiola Mare, Le Diplomate and St. Anselm claimed spots. Three other restaurants on the list — The Capital Grille, Eddie V's and Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab — also have locations in the DC area.

• L'Auberge Chez Francois: 332 Springvale Road, Great Falls, VA 22066

This family-owned eatery feels like you've been whisked away to the French countryside. Its extensive menu showcasing Alsace and traditional French cuisine have made this a favorite in the DC region.

• Jacques' Brasserie at L'Auberge Chez Francois: 332 Springvale Road, Great Falls, VA 22066

Located on the lower level of L’Auberge Chez Francois, this eatery offers a more casual dining experience with traditional Alsatian cuisine.

• Chez Billy Sud: 1039 31st Street NW, Washington, DC 20007

This French bistro in Georgetown has traditional and updated takes on French dishes.

• Fiola Mare: 3100 K Street NW, Washington, DC 20007

Fiola Mare serves upscale Italian seafood with views of the Potomac River in the background on the Georgetown waterfront.

This American tavern is the second location of Joe Carroll’s popular New York City restaurant. Steak is the specialty, paired with a laid-back vibe.

The restaurant serves steaks dry aged and hand-cut on site and an extensive wine list made by a sommelier all served in an upscale atmosphere.

• Eddie V's: 7900 Tysons One Place, McLean, VA 22102

This restaurant combines fine seafood and acclaimed steaks with live jazz.

• Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab: 750 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20005

As the name suggests, this restaurant is tied to the acclaimed Miami Beach restaurant Joe's Stone Crab. Its seafood is flown in fresh every day, and the steaks are hand-carved by master butchers.

OpenTable generated the 2020 list based solely from dinner reviews collected between Dec. 1, 2018, and Nov. 30, 2019. To be included, all the restaurants needed a minimum overall score and a certain number of qualifying reviews.

The qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the percentage of reviews, for which “romantic” was selected as a special feature.

"We craft this list every year to help diners looking for inspiration for the most popular date night of the year," said Jessica Jensen, senior vice president of marketing at OpenTable, in a press release. "Whether it’s a special night with your significant other, a girls night out, or your first outing with someone new, these restaurants have passed the test of setting the table for exceptional ambiance and an incredible meal."
