Snow Storm Unlikely But Not Ruled Out In McLean Next Week
Forecasters believe the storm will track south of the region, but changes are still possible.

MCLEAN, VA—The threat of a major winter storm looms over the East Coast early next week, but there's a good chance it could miss the DC region entirely.
Both the American and European models show the brunt of the storm stays in southern Virginia and North Carolina. While the American model shows light snow barely reaching north to the DC region, the European model suggests light snow could stay south of Richmond.
The Baltimore-Washington National Weather Service office expects just a slight threat of a snow storm in Northern Virginia Sunday overnight into Monday. The current forecast for McLean projects up to a 40 percent chance of snow on Sunday night.

The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang has a similar projection. "The best chance for snow capable of accumulation is likely to be overnight, but it may stay to our south."
But while weather models show the storm tracking south of the DC region, it's close enough that snow can't be ruled out entirely.

No major shifts in the overnight models with the weekend storm, meaning it doesn't look like upper energy is playing along to get measurable snow into DC Sunday (Euro totally dry here). Close enough that we don't want to take our eye off it though...but for now looks like a miss. pic.twitter.com/Fs7wIxqMXS
