Starr Hill Brewery To Open At Skypark Atop Capital One Hall

TYSONS, VA — As work continues on the next phase of the Capital One Center development, Starr Hill Brewery announced it will be part of the development's skypark space called The Perch.

The Albemarle County-based Starr Hill Brewery will lease biergarten space at the 1.2 acre skypark, The Perch, atop Capital One Hall. The Starr Hill Biergarten will feature over 5,000 square feet of outdoor dining and lounge space. Diners will find a biergarten-themed menu and a full bar highlighted by Starr Hill's own beers.

"Starr Hill’s brand and reputation within the craft beer community, as well as their experience in the live music scene, will further establish The Perch as a unique destination for Tysons and the Greater Washington region," said Jonathan Griffith, managing director of Capital One Center, in a statement.

Adjacent to the biergarten will be an amphitheater with lawn seating offering live entertainment. Starr Hill will also manage programming at the amphitheater. The skypark will also have food trucks, a plaza with games, a sculpture garden, and a dog park. The Perch is anticipated to open in summer 2021.

"The Perch is such a unique space and when we were approached about bringing to life a rooftop biergarten and amphitheater concept, we couldn’t turn it down," said Josh Cromwell, Starr Hill’s vice president of finance and retail. "There will be tremendous energy at Capital One Center and we’re proud to bring Starr Hill into the DC Metro Area."

The skypark will be part of the 6 million-square-foot Capital One Center at Capital One's headquarters near the McLean Metro Station. Capital One Hall, a meeting place for Capital One employees as well as an event venue, is scheduled to open in fall 2021. Aside from hosting The Perch, Capital One Hall will have a 1,500-seat performance hall, 250-seat black box theater called The Vault, an atrium and terrace.

The new Capital One headquarters building, a Wegmans store and Starbucks location have already opened at the development. Watermark Hotel, Capital One’s corporate lodging facility, is expected to open in late 2021.
