The Fairfax County Police Department has released no details about the traffic accident that closed the westbound lanes of Old Dominion Drive at Mayflower Drive Monday night around 10 p.m.

Old Dominion Drive were closed following what appeared to be a two-car accident.

Fairfax County police at the scene would only say that one person was injured. A Fairfax County fire department ambulance was at the scene.

We knew you would want to know further details, so we sent the police public information office a note about 11 pm. Monday night. We sent the same note about mid-morning and have still heard nothing. We received confirmation that they received our questions.

When taxpayers want police information they need to send a note to the public information office. The office is  usually very prompt about releasing the information you need. But not today.

Our questions were probably the same as your questions:

  • How many people were injured?
  • Were they taken to the hospital? What hospital? Condition?
  • Cause of the accident?
  • How did the accident occur?
  • Charges if anyway. Who was charged with what?
  • How long was Old Dominion northbound closed to traffic?

We'll keep trying.
