McLean/Tysons Corner Traffic Challenges

This week's traffic dramas in McLean and Tysons Corner are brought to you by the simultaneous construction of the HOT Lanes and the Metro construction.
Overnight Closures of Eastbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH)
Dulles Corridor Metrorail construction will close the eastbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH) overnights next week. These closures are necessary to complete work on the aerial guideway (flyover bridge) that crosses over the DIAAH and the Dulles Toll Road. Traffic is not allowed to flow under active construction for public safety reasons.
Overnight crews will implement a full closure of the eastbound DIAAH from Centreville Road (Route 657) to the merge past the main toll plaza from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, June 24, and Monday, June 25.
Traffic will be detoured from the eastbound DIAAH on to the eastbound Dulles Toll Road (Route 267) at Centreville Road ( Herndon). Motorists will use the Toll Road for the remainder of the route, through the main toll plaza. IMPORTANT: Tolls will be levied at the main toll plaza.
The full closures will be followed by single left or right lane closures on the eastbound DIAAH at Leesburg Pike (Route 7) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, and Wednesday, June 27. During the single lane closures, all traffic on the eastbound DIAAH will be temporarily stopped for approximately 15 minutes after midnight. Police will be onsite for motorist safety during the closures.
