This Is Virginia's Richest Zip Code

One of Northern Virginia's communities is among the very richest in the country.

Bloomberg recently evaluated IRS data to come up with the nation's priciest communities. The most expensive in Virginia? That would be 22101, which is McLean.

In fact, McLean is so expensive, Bloomberg ranked it as the 17th most-affluent ZIP code in the South. McLean, where the average income is $363,900, is situated along the Potomac River west of Washington, DC. Located in Fairfax County, Gladwyne is part of the Fairfax County Public Schools district.

Currently, the highest-priced home for sale there is listed at $24 million. The cheapest home on the market now in Gladwyne is this townhouse, priced at $724K.

So what's the richest ZIP code in America? That would be Fisher Island, near Miami Beach, Florida. The average income there was $2.5 million in 2015.
