Weather Alert: Blizzard Watch Begins Friday

"Travel is expected to be severely limited if not impossible during the height of the storm," according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for the area from Friday afternoon through late Saturday night.

Heavy snow and wind is expected, possibly with a wintery mix Friday night and Saturday morning east of Interstate 95, before changing back to all snow on Saturday.

There is the potential for a foot or more of snow, according to forecasters. Possibly far more than a foot in some areas.

“Conditions are expected to deteriorate Friday afternoon with the heaviest snow, strongest winds and potential life threatening conditions expected Friday night through Saturday night,” according to the NWS.
