A man walking in a wooded area of Mount Vernon was assaulted and robbed, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
Authorities said that the incident took place at 5:30 p.m. on New Year’s Day on the 3400 block of Anker Street.
The man was approached by five men, one of whom assaulted him and took an electronic device, police report. The victim had injuries that were described as non-life threatening.
