Navy Officer Convicted Of Sex Charges In Norfolk: Report

A high-ranking Navy officer was sentenced to eight years in prison last week for trying to have sex with a young teenage girl says a report.

NORFOLK, VA — After being arrested in a December 2015 sting operation in which he was lured to a location where he brought wine and condoms for what he believed to be a rendezvous with a young teenage girl, a high-ranking Navy officer was sentenced to eight years in prison last week during a court-martial at Naval Station Norfolk.

According to the Virginian-Pilot, Capt. Alan Dorrbecker was found guilty of multiple counts of sexual abuse and assault of a child, one count of violating orders, and one count of conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman. He's a former commander of the attack submarine USS Greeneville who served two years at the Pentagon in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations.

He made arrangements to meet the girl, who he met at her part-time summer job working on the naval base, while stationed in Naples, Italy, with Naval Forces Europe.
