Whether you live nearby or miles away, Virginia Beach is a great place to visit for some fun.

When looking for your next place to visit in the US, take a look at Virginia Beach. It’s a great summer destination that is fun for the whole family. If you’re looking to a great beach vacation, Virginia Beach is the place to go with The Boardwalk to keep the entire family entertained. Obviously, there are some great beaches in Virginia Beach, but there are more things to do than just hanging out in the sand.

Water Adventures

Other than spending time on the beach, there are many different water activities such as surfing, fishing, and boat rides to spot some dolphins. If you want to learn how to surf, there are lessons and surf camps available to enjoy. Take a look to see which one is best for you; multiple great places offer surf lessons. If you would rather be on the water than in the water, there are numerous different types of fishing adventures for you to enjoy. There is no offseason for fishing in Virginia Beach, so there is always some fishing opportunities for you there. Aside from fishing, if you want to see some dolphins, Virginia Beach is the place for you because there are many different boat and kayak dolphin tours in the area.

Museums and Aquarium

If it’s a rainy day or you want to get some time out of the sun, check out the museums and the aquarium in Virginia Beach. The Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center is a great place to learn about different marine life. Interactive exhibits make it a fun place for children while also being educational on the animals and endangered species. Head to the Military Aviation Museum to see the world’s largest private collection of World War I and World War II era military aircraft. Many of the planes are flown at the museum for flight demonstrations and air shows throughout the year.

Free Activities

It’s great to do some activities that don’t cost much, or anything at all, while on vacation. Take a trip to the Cape Henry Lighthouse to climb to the top and learn a bit of history too. You can climb or take walking tours of the area to learn about the history of Cape Henry. Another fun free activity to enjoy is the Live! On Atlantic events during the summer months. From musicians and jugglers to magicians and costumed characters, there is something fun for everyone to enjoy at night on Atlantic Avenue.
