Free Holiday Lyft Rides To Prevent DUI In Oakton
Free rides home will be offered for an extended amount of days to keep drunk drivers off the roads in Oakton.

OAKTON, VA—While many people are excited to celebrate the holidays with eggnog and peppermint schnapps, don't risk your life or others when drinking around Oakton. The nonprofit organization Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP) has partnered with Lyft to provide a SoberRide service throughout Fairfax County and the DC area Friday, Dec. 15 to Monday, Jan. 1.
Oakton residents age 21 or older celebrating with alcohol can download Lyft to their phones, enter a promo code in the app's 'Promo' section and receive their no cost (up to $15 fare) safe transportation home.
"Last December, nearly a thousand (911) Greater Washington residents did the right thing and availed themselves of this lifesaving service rather than possibly driving home impaired," Kurt Gregory Erickson, WRAP's President, said in a statement.
WRAP's weekly Holiday SoberRide promo codes will be posted at 2 p.m. Dec. 15, Dec. 23 and Dec. 31 on www.SoberRide.com.
