Andrew & Polly have written and performed music for adults as well, which has been featured in grown-up movies as well as television programs and commercials. Still, there first love remains their children’s music, as affirmed by Andrew Barkan in a recent news release promoting the show at Jammin’ Java.

“The commercial accolades are nice, but much more meaningful to us was winning the prestigious ASCAP Foundation Joe Raposo Children’s Music Award for a song from our debut children’s album, ‘Up and At ‘Em!’”

Barkan and his musical partner Polly Hall are also married, and their shared connection brings even more life to their shows, something audiences have noticed as the group has grown in notoriety.

The duo is known for engaging the audience, and they love to improvise songs based on suggestions from the crowd. They also share musical knowledge with the audience during their performances, introducing unique instruments to the crowd as well as “music lingo.”

The release also notes the duo will need its audience to provide some backup vocals, meaning singing along is not only allowed but encouraged.
